The USB-C Gigabit + Power Adapter connects a USB-C iPad to ethernet and to power. It uses a USB-C Charger as its power source.
It is ideal for use in iPad-based point of sale systems, kiosks or other 24/7 use cases where the iPad requires a dependable wired connection to a network and to power. Since the connection to power is optional, this adapter is also a durable and convenient “fits in your pocket” adapter that can be used to connect an iPad or iPhone to ethernet in the field.
When connected to a USB-C iPad the Adapter is instantly recognized as a network connection. This network connection can be configured using the iOS Settings app.
This adapter supports USB-C iPads and iPhones only. It is not compatible with an iPad that has a Lightning port.
Since this adapter can operate with or without being connected to a USB-C charger, power issues are very uncommon. If the adapter is connected to a USB-C charger yet the iPad is failing to maintain a charge:
The ethernet connection is configured using the iOS Settings app. Should you observe that the ethernet connection is not stable, consider changing the USB-C cables that you are using. Using poor quality USB-C cables or using USB-C cables with a total combined length of more than 2500mm could contribute to instability in the network connection.
